About Baguio Fil-Am

Baguio Fil-Am of Tidewater was formed as a non-profit, social, charitable organization
to establish rapport with civic communities in the Tidewater area and especially
to promote and preserve the unique tradition and culture of the place.

History

The formation of Baguio Fil-Am Tidewater was initiated by Willie Austria on July
27, 1985. Together with Jun Sandoval they were able to gather 10 families who were
originally from Baguio and the Mt. Provinces for a picnic at Princess Anne Park
in Virginia Beach, VA on August 5, 1985. This gathering led to the organization
of Baguio Fil-Am and the election of interim officers and subsequently annual elections
of officers.

Associations

Baguio Fil-Am has joined the NationalFederation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA) and our members now enjoy the benefits of membership with this excellent organization.
